Take a journey through 100 years of history – Temple At War Essex
Temple at War is thrilled to be opening the Military re-enactment season once again in 2020 as we return for our sixth year to the fantastic setting of Cressing Temple Barns on 16-17 May. Since opening its doors in 2015, Temple at War has rapidly gained an outstanding reputation for the scale and high quality re-enactment on display which is now known throughout Europe as one of the best Military events to attend.
Whats On?
HAVING SERVED FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS IN THE BRITISH ARMY, COMING HERE TODAY WAS LIKE GOING BACK IN TIME.
THE SMELLS OF HEXMIN FIRES COOKING, OLD CANVAS ARMY TENTS ETC..THE SOUNDS OF MACHINE GUN FIRE WITH SOLDIERS IN OLD UNIFORMS IS AMAZING.AS WELL AS THE LADIES SINGING AL THE OLD WAR SONGS.
WALKING INTO THE SHOW LITERALLY TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.
EVERY PART OF THE SHOW IS AMAZING. LOTS OF ARMY VEHICLES TO LOOK AT AS WELL AS DIFFERENT ARMY CAMPS.
ALL THE FOOD STALLS HAVE BEEN GREAT TOO.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SHOW. ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST OLD MILITARY SETTINGS I’VE EVER SEEN. I FEEL AS THOUGH I’VE GONE BACK IN TIME.
THANK YOU TO EVERY ONE INVOLVED WHO HAVE MADE THE EFFORT.
BEING 100 YEARS SINCE THE END OF WW1 MADE IT ALL THE MORE POIGNANT.
THANK YOU.
